A Sophisticated Scam

TCCF marketed itself as an investment fund specializing in classic cars, attracting wealthy investors with promises of high returns from investments in Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and other luxury vehicles. However, instead of actually investing in classic cars, the fund redirected investor money into a private company’s bank account in the UK—owned by Pignatti himself.

Evidence suggests that large loans were issued to investors, while many cars were sold at significantly lower prices than their appraised value. Some vehicles even vanished without a trace after TCCF collapsed in early 2021.

A Suspicious Network

TCCF was managed by Fortuna Administration, a company registered in SVG. However, further investigation revealed links to Scarabaeus in Liechtenstein. Under the guise of a legitimate investment fund, TCCF leveraged the reputation of Filippo Pignatti Morano’s relative—a senior executive at Ferrari—to build investor trust.

Legal Actions – And Suspicious Silence

By mid-2023, multiple criminal complaints had been filed by shareholders with European authorities, accusing the fund of fraudulent activities. However, authorities in SVG have remained conspicuously silent—especially given that TCCF’s fake management company was actually a front for an asset management group in Liechtenstein.

The lack of transparency and failure to take concrete action have raised serious concerns about SVG’s credibility as an international financial center. This case further damages SVG’s reputation as a jurisdiction with a professional and reliable fund management system.

A Warning for Investors

The Classic Car Fund case serves as a costly lesson about investing in unregulated funds registered in jurisdictions with weak legal oversight. Investors should be particularly cautious with international financial funds that lack clear regulatory oversight and always conduct thorough due diligence before committing their money.
