I'm not entirely settled on Phantom's design but this was also sort of the test run for Spirits's new design. I should also probably finish Spirit Tracks before doing a TON more design stuff with Phantom and Spirits but it's fine (。‿。 )

Some notes on Phantom in particular!

Ear cuffs are supposed to be reminiscent of Phantom Horns; possessing them so much means the lack of additional "weight" feels stranger now

b/c of the amount of swirly designs on phantoms (and for variety's sake) her hair is curlier now

>>> genuinely I still don't get why Wind Waker (as her "true" self), Spirit Tracks, and Minish Cap all use the EXACT same design. like i can sorta get ST!Zelda looking like WW!Zelda, that's her descendant, but Minish Cap has no reason. not even "oh it's the toon style" cause Four Swords has a different design!!

Feather/wing-like things that were behind her ears in OG design are now on belt

bigger/more complete crown cause she's gonna be crowned queen (no longer just a princess, oohh)

Somewhat regularly still has out of body experiences. Being separated from her body has severely messed her up. There are days when she has to be reassured that others can still see her and hear her and that she's not a ghost again, even if things feel numb and she feels like an outsider looking in at her own being.

she also gets a vest because i feel like Pirate Queen Tetra would keep hers and it just becomes like. a thing in the following generations.

Spirits got a design update. I wanted him to look more... distinct from his game appearance, I guess, and more distinct from the other Spirit Tracks Link additions/creations too.

Is tired. Not allowed to be sleepy. ∆ Dragged into the War of Ages w/ Phantom + Riptide

The shoulder pad is sort of a soft fabric mesh(?) so Riptide has an easier time gripping onto it compared to leather, and so she doesn't accidentally destroy his uniform.

The inclusion of the goggles note and facial scar are a callback to the first draft in the avatar maker, and the whirlwind is a prevalent item because I like to use it a lot ^^; once again I pull from my time playing to make characters

The savior of the Spirit Tracks and heralded by the Lokomo as a hero, Spirits wanted nothing more in life after his adventure to just keep doing his Train Thing. Life had other plans. He isn't happy. Seriously, this is the second time he's been wrapped up in some space-time-crossing nonsense, why is it HIM that has to deal with this--?!

He fights with the Lokomo Sword and is assisted often by his seagull companion, Riptide, met long before learning the Song of Birds to summon more at will. He's also a fan of chucking as many bombs as possible at a problem until it stops being a problem.

Spirits... doesn't like most of the people he's working with. Landon is fine, but the others range from neutral to annoyed mostly because of how they all met. Between driving alongside a train to being far too full of themselves, the group really didn't make good first impressions. He's got a customer service face when it comes to the passengers, at least, and cares deeply for his incarnation of Princess Zelda.

While he was more "sleepy" or "spacey" before being thrust into adventure, nowadays he just comes off as tired but more focused. Spirits can still see and speak with ghosts, but he's also been seen holding conversations with birds. It's hard to tell if they're one-sided or if he really knows what they're saying, though. When people ask, he brushes off the questions and pretends like it never happened.

[designer's notes: I'm still debating about whether or not to mix in green from the hero attire, but I definitely think he should have messy hair. as a treat. It's been a year or two since spirit tracks happened at this point so he's had a chance to grow it out a bit. still messing with his outfit cause there's so many additions of him to linkeduniverse as is. not that it's a bad thing!! i just have to Think More I Guess]
