Technically the refs are older than the Tumblr posts during that time because of late posting,,,

As tots, whenever Splinter had his depressive episodes once in a while where he feels too overwhelmed to cook anything, he'll let the kids choose whatever they want for dinner, though Raph will make the food for his siblings during those moments sometimes. And if Raph is unable to, Leo, who may suck at making simple food like toast, he'll take over to make food for his siblings. Even if it's not the greatest, it's not the worse

Until eventually as they grew, Mikey learned to be the better cook and decided to convince his brothers to let him cook for them more often to practice his cooking skills, which turn out pretty good
