My Future Knight-In-Shining-Armor
He's gotta be strong like Ryden (Highland Fairytale)
He'll be my rock that I'll hold on to when I'm thrown around by the storms that come into my life. He'll be my anchor when huge problems come my way.
He's gotta be sweet like Thanatos (How I Fell for Death)
I want someone who'll give me flowers and chocolates on Valentine's Day. Someone who'll text me just to let me know he's thinking of me. Someone who'll totally blow my head and my heart away with his romantic gestures. He may totally be clueless about love and romance but for me, he'll try his best.
He's gotta be as fierce as Sylvan (For Eternity)
I don't want a wimp. I want someone who'll fight for our relationship during the times when I will nearly give up.
I don't want a bad boy I can reform. Technically, relationships like these are doomed from the start. I know the attraction to bad boys and the thought that you're going to be the one who can change him. That never happens.
If he is the "bad boy" type, there's still bound to be something good in him. I want someone who's good but with a fierce heart.
He's gotta be patient like Hades (How to be a Queen)
"Fated love is worth waiting centuries for."
I want someone who won't snap or fly to rage within a few seconds just because of something that went wrong. I don't want someone who'll run at the first sign of trouble.
I want someone who'll patiently listen to my problems. It doesn't matter if he cannot solve them. I just want someone who'll listen and hold me.
I know I'm not always the best person to be with and I need someone who'll understand that and be patient.
He's gotta be a dreamer and an adventurer like Alexander (The Last Sorceress)
I don't want a pessimist. I want an optimist.
I want someone who'll see the glass as half-full. I want a dreamer, an adventurer. I want someone who'll understand my passion for writing, for romance and fantasies.
I want someone who'll share my passion for travelling and trying out new things. Someone like Alexander who grew up in a world without magic but when thrust into a world of fantasy, grasped it wholeheartedly and tried to adapt instead of constantly being scared.
He's gotta be protective like Alex (The Billion-Dollar Knight)
"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going."
Real life isn't as exciting as romance novels. There aren't villains running around trying to kidnap me. Still, I want someone who's got that possessive and protective streak like Alex. Someone who'll shield me from my problems with his hugs and kisses.
Someone who'll tell me it's all going to be okay. Someone who'll say that the world may go against us but he's never going to turn his back on me.
Someone who's going to be there for better or for worse. Someone I can rely on through the toughest of times.
Someone not obsessive but still has a bit of a jealous streak that's surely going to turn me into mush.
He's gotta be cunning like Nikos (The Billion-Dollar Marriage Contract)
Nikos Demakis is known as one of the most brilliant minds in business.
I don't want a billionaire or a prince. I just want someone who's smart. Someone who can carry a deep conversation with me. A person who has his own opinions and beliefs and stands by them.
Someone who can offer logical advise for my problems.
I'd rather go for a guy with brains rather than beauty or brawn.
He's gotta be open to change like Zeus (How to Reform a Rake)
This is not contradictory to my first statement about not changing a bad boy. This is sort of like an addendum.
It's not going to be me trying to change him but rather it will be his decision to change for the better-- not for me but for both of us.
I loved him from the start, flaws and all. But if he can change something in him to become an even better version of himself without me saying so, then this is the greatest proof of love any woman could ask for.
Yeah, I know. Pretty high standards, right?
Haha. Then I guess this is why I am still single.
All of these is NOT a requirement. They are more of guidelines for me so I could weed out doomed relationships. I don't want to invest my time and emotions into something that would never work out.
But before anyone says anything, let me tell you that these are my ideals. They are what I want but I do know that we cannot have everything we want in life. So they are my guidelines. I want these characteristics in someone...
...Not for a relationship but for someone I'd spend the rest of my life with.
But until the day I meet the guy of my dreams (my King, my fierce protector, my alpha male, my possessive guy, my superhero, my knight) who'd blow my mind and my heart to bits...
...I'll continue to write about love stories that I wish were mine.
