February Reading log / update
I've finished reading "Selbstmanagement" and "Models", continued reading to "Maze Runner" - but not really anthing else. Looking to finish "Maze Runner" and continue reading "Your Brain on Prn" and "Killing the Business" in March.
January Reading Log
I didn't finish any book this month but read/listened to a few:
- Die Macht der Disziplin (Baumeister/Tierny): Continued to listen to this at the start of the year, and it's fascinating how you can train your will power. One argument the book makes is that the less decisions you have to make (through automated system in your everyday life), the more will power you have. So, that's what I'm looking to do. Not easy though!
- Selbstbild (Dweck): Started at the end of last year, talks about the differences in mind set people have, static or dynamic. A static/fixed mindset is something most people who always complain and victimize themselves have. In comparison, people with a dynamic mindset don't think their character is set in stone and feel like they can change things if they only want to. I've read that this book does a lot of repetition. so I've been hesitant to continue listening.
- Maze Runner (Dashner): My only fiction book this month. Slow pace, but thrilling moments here and there. I wish I hadn't seen the trailer though because that's limiting my imagination.
- Selbstmanagement (Mittelstädt): Many good tipps about organizing oneself. Not all are for me, but I'm learning a few things here and there, which are in line with my goals for the year. The biggest challenge is going to put theory into practice though!
- Models (Manson): Continued reading this a bit, as I like reading Mark Manson. Good insights.
My 2022 goals in reading:
- Finish 9 books I bought before 2022
comment: So, no book finished yet, but at least I've read a few. I didn't keep track but I've read at least every second day of the month, so that's something.
