Long Distance AU- Chapter three beginning
The warm morning sunlight shun upon Devektra, who was sound asleep in the edge of her bed. She had one hand tucked under the pillow and the other was hanging down from the side of the mattress. Her rose patterned blanket covered the bottom half of her body while her turquoise tank top was revealed. She was breathing in and out, her chest raising before it got lower again. Her hair was held behind her ear and her phone was placed on the top of her nightstand next to her with a pretty lamp for decoration.
Last night, she had walked up the three little stairs to her door and as she was opening it with her keys, her phone began to rang. Reaching out to get it out of her back pocket she saw her assistant was calling her. “Oui, Mirkl,” she sighed and got into her apartment, rolling her eyes.
Listening to him greeting her as a dry opening to what he really wanted to ask, whether if she remembered she had a photoshoot and interview tomorrow, she took off her boots by pushing the heel with the front of her shoe. “I know, you don’t need to remind me,” she told him in French.
She stared at her TV that was connected to the wall and her leg rubbed against her white couch as she pressed her phone between her shoulder and her ear. In the meantime, she got her hands under her shirt and opened the hook of her bra. She almost moaned in relief, and bit her lips holding it.
“The show was good, thank you. I had a lot of fun and the crowed enjoyed too,” she pushed the straps out of the sleeves of her shirt and was left holding her bra, waiting for him to finished saying “That’s good.” “Listen, can I call you back later? I just got back from a date and-”
“Date?!” he yelled and she closed one eye in discomfort. He didn’t scare her, since she was used to his yelling.
“Sorry, dinner, and I really should go to sleep,” Counting the wasted minutes, she wished in her mind that he would let her end the conversation.
“Okay,” he settled. “Good luck tomorrow.”
They told each other good night and she pressed the hang up botton. Looking at the screen, a list of last calls opened after the call ended, and she saw Sandor’s name written second, right below Mirkl. The sight of his number caused her to smile and she made her way towards her bedroom, ready to go to bed.
Now, her sleep was cut short because her cat, Bubble, was licking her fingers with her small tongue. Slowly, she woke up confused, eyebrows furrowed, until she realized what was touching her hand. “Bubble,” she muttered, her mouth still half into the pillow. “Bubble, it’s sleeping time. Let me sleep.”
Her cat refused to stop and rose on two legs, gently putting her front feet on her mom’s hand. She was going to tell her to stop again, but her alarm rang on the nightstand, turning her phone on. Devektra got up and moved her gaze from her ringing phone to Bubble before she swiped the screen to turn the music off and picked up her cat.
“Aww,” she began to say, sitting with her legs crossed, eastern style, and held Bubble to her face for a second. “You wanted to want me up, didn’t you?” she set her down her on her legs and brushed her soft fur with her hand, petting her. In response, Bubble purred, satisfied, savoring the touch on her back, head and neck.
Devektra yawned and stretched her arms above her head, thinking about how much she wanted her usual cup of coffee already. After, she turned around, her feet on the rough carpet and stood up with a smile, starting the day.
