i think a simple way to do it would be having two character’s names with an & in the middle, like what AO3 does to indicate non-romantic relationships in stories
like, for example, Aang & Zuko, or Toshi & Izuku, etc

Ah hmmm sorry if that's a bit awkward, but some people might not mean it as a ship tag ? I mean I started recently tagging with some ship names but in my head it's really just tagging a relationship, not necessarily romantic. Just... two people interacting ? Oh god I'm bad at explaining
i realize that, however it doesn’t make me feel any less uncomfortable
especially because someone else could see that tag and misinterpret it, believing that my post that was tagged with a ship name was originally intended to be about shipping, when it wasn’t (what i mean is, that sort of tagging system could cause a lot of confusion)

Under the cut is a lot of rambling and the questionnaire from the other day haha
So all of these characters (from the questionnaire thing) are part of a story I’ve been developing for around 2-ish years (I only really invested a lot of time and thought in it this past year tbh). Eventually, as in a looong long time from now, I’d like to make it an animated series. I’ve nicknamed it “Crown,” coming from the saying “A crown is a heavy burden.”
It takes place in a relatively new kingdom (only like, 3 generations old) that’s wedged between two other kingdoms who have been at war on and off for approx 200 years. I’ve nicknamed the newer kingdom Yellow, and the other two Red and Blue. I am shit at names.
The story begins with Felix, the prince of Yellow, being assigned a personal group of guards: Cana, Natal, and Leo. These 4 are the main characters. Cana and Felix are technically the MAIN main characters but ya know. They all get into wacky hijinks that world/character build, which includes meeting other characters that hang around the palace. One of these is the Ambassador from the Blue Kingdom. His name is Mattias.
Mattias is a charming man in early 30s, and an excellent politician. He befriends Felix, and becomes somewhat of a mentor figure to him. However his intentions aren’t all that….good.
Red and Blue are once again on the brink of war, and both kingdoms are vying for control over Yellow. Mattias came to Yellow as an emissary of peace and respect, but is actually under direct orders from the Emperor of Blue to seize political control of Yellow from the inside. And he will do anything to achieve that goal. Even if that means killing.

I hope this kinda gives you an idea???? Basically: Mattias is the most likely to kill people because of his “if it gets me what I want/need” mentality and also he does try to kill someone like twice
