A little late, but still want to talk about it:
TOM’S SUIT FROM “BRAND NEW DAY” IS NOT A MIX OF TOBY & ANDREW’S SUITS (incorrect, it is, but not just a mix of just their suits)
Let me explain:
1) From Toby’s suit Tom inherited the type of fabric + the spider-logo is similar to Toby’s (its legs are farther apart + the general proportions are similar)
2) From Andrew’s suit Tom took the flat belt shape, the choice of having the same logo on the chest & on the back; the symbol is similar to Andrew’s in therms of legs (the lower legs are longer than the upper ones) & the symbol on the chest is set quite low, like on the TASM2 suit
3) From his own previous suits Tom took the eye shape & mechanics, the bright & vibrant colour scheme & the simplicity of the spider logo (the spider is still very much geometric + the legs are still disconnected from the body, running along it like somewhat parallel lines)
Let me reiterate: the Brand New Day suit is inspired by all the suit iterations that came before, both Tom’s own suits as well as Toby & Andrew’s suits. His spider-symbol is as broad as Toby’s, as elongated as Andrew’s & as geometric as Tom’s old logo.
That’s it, here, I said it.
There's a scene in TASM 2 that has always bothered me, and I genuinely never see anyone talk about it. Peter finally finds his Dad's old lab and uncovers the truth about his powers. This whole subplot is already shaky, but then comes the revelation.
"The human DNA implanted in the spiders was my own. Which means without me or my bloodline, Oscorp can never replicate my experiments."
And yet, for all the discourse about how Andrew is the perfect Spider-Man, or how Tobey and Tom are somehow not "true" Spider-Men for whatever arbitrary reason people have, this gets a complete pass.
How is that not completely against everything Spider-Man as a character stands for? The entire point of Peter Parker is that he wasn't special. He was a regular kid from Queens who got lucky and then chose to do something with it. That's the whole thing. That's why people love him. And sure, the bite was random, but if any other kid had been bitten, they'd be dead. Peter only survived because of his bloodline, so now it becomes a chosen one story with a different coat of paint.
TASM 2 is already a messy film, the Gwen and Peter stuff is genuinely the only reason to rewatch it, but the fact that people still insist this franchise was heading somewhere great under this direction has always baffled me. You can love Andrew's performance, I do, without pretending the writing didn't have serious problems.
And to be clear, I love Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. TASM 1 was the first film I ever saw in theatres, and it holds a special place in my heart because of that.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 tie-in video game.
I think the game was amazing! (Pun intended)
I think it did a pretty good job at mixing the game's original story with parts of the movie's story. I think the game actually has some features that should be brought back in new Spider-Man games, like the level select and the ability to read comics in the game itself and collect them.
They had a pretty good selection of alternate costumes in this game. The boss fights were fun. The combat nice.
The only complaint I have is that STUPID HERO/MENACE METER!
I can't miss one crime without suffering the consequences.
Other than that the game is amazing. (Pun not intended)
