Gossip GirlÂ
Nicola had been working from home for a little while. After having Waverly she wasnât sure if she would ever want to have anymore kids. With the right partner having a child could be something truly amazing. It had been Cooper that had sensed that something was indeed off. He had become more protective and wanted to be close to her. She was supposed to be taking it easy, resting if that was the appropriate word for it but there had been a few issues at the gallery that needed her immediate attention. She knew that stress wasnât good not only for herself but for the child that was growing inside of her. She smiled as she felt Cooper nudge her. She knew that she needed to take a break and at least eat something. She sighed as she heard notifications go off. âWhat now?â She rolled her eyes seeing it was about recent Gossip Queen posts. Gossip was one of the quickest ways to ruin happiness or stress someone out.
Choosing to ignore the alerts she went back to the documents that she needed to go over. Hearing her phone chime again she ran her fingers through her hair and grabbed one of cotton candy grapes that were in the bowl. She looked to see that she had a text from Gabe asking if she was okay. She was deep into her work and she typically ignored texts until another one came through and it was about her meeting up with her ex. âTy che, blyad?â (What the fuck) To say that she was pissed off was an understatement at this point. She rarely spoke in Russian but when she did she was really pissed off. She picked up a book and threw it at wall. A disgruntled sigh escaped her lips as she paced back and forth. Cooper stayed right with her. She felt awful about the whole situation. Her past with Ryan was complicated and as much as she hated it they would be forever tied to one another because of Waverly. She knew that she never should of met with him. The outcome was always the same. He knew that he could push her buttons and make her feel like she was the worse mother in the entire world.
If it hadnât been about Waverly and the fact that she wanted him to sign his rights away she never would have went. She had completely lost it. Ryan had completely backed her into a corner and in that moment her main priority was the baby that she was carrying. She didnât want to focus on that or work at the moment. All she really wanted to do was spend time with Theo but this particular project for the gallery needed her and it had taken up most of her time for the day. The quicker she got done the quicker she could spend time with Theo. âHoney?â She looked up to see Theo, standing in the doorway, arms folded over his chest with a concerned look etched on his face. âAre you okay?âÂ
âIâm okay.â She knew better than to say that she was okay because he could read her like a book and her saying Iâm okay was code for no Iâm really not okay. She always told him when something was bothering her. She never kept anything from him.
She groaned as another notification came through on her phone. âWhat is going on? I canât help you if you donât talk to me.â âIâŚ.Iâm sorry I lost track of time. My email kept going off and then my phone was going off. This projectâŚ.means everything to me and Iâve worked so hardâŚ.â He sighed and walked towards her. He rested his hands on her shoulders and rubbed them slightly to ease some of the tension. She melted into his touch. âAre you going to tell me whatâs gotten you so worked up that you started cursing in Russian?â
She sighed and then grabbed her phone and pulled up what was on the gossip queens website. He looked at her and shook his head. He turned off the notifications and put her phone on charge. âI want you to listen to me. I donât give a damn about what some gossip website has to say.â She looked down. âHey look at me.â She looked up at him. âThereâs nothing that I wouldnât do for you. Okay? Nothing. All that matters is you and I know the truth. Thatâs it. Now you are taking a break. You and the baby need a break.â He reached down and took her hand squeezing it. âNo more thinking about gossipâŚ..how about we order in and watch a movieâŚwhatever you want.â She smirked and arched an eyebrow. âAnything I want?â âWhy do I have a feeling Iâm going to regret saying that?â She laughed. âYou wonât I promise. Itâs not like Iâm going to make you watch The Notebook or anything.âÂ
