I wonder if she’s out there. My own phantom haunts me much like Archie haunts Chloe, but Dominique isn’t like Archie. The man seems hellbent on getting to Chloe, and her alone. Dominique would like to see everyone around me writhing in pain before coming for me... Or before making me succumb to her needs and wants once more. However... I do wonder if reaching out to her for help would be beneficial. Even if it meant owing her a debt, along with the one I cannot ever begin to repay.

Still... watching her dance tonight, laughing and enjoying herself in a way I haven’t seen in so long, I can’t help but think she has enough monsters hiding in the shadows. Adding another one would only cause more concern.

Recurring nightmares, when I was human, were just a rotation of never ending denials for my books, or my wife leaving me. Never did I imagine that I would have to endure the nightmare of losing my love over and over again, but I fear it every single night. Every breeze that rips through the balcony window, every movement or creak in the home. I could sweat over the amount of times I have obsessively checked the new cameras I had installed. I know he’s coming, I know it’s only a matter of time. And I can protect her from the actuality of it.

But he’s left scars on her that I can’t even begin to repair. They won’t begin to heal at all until he’s gone off the face of the earth and I need to make that happen. I’ve been working with others, trying to find the best way to slaughter this faceless enemy.
