Sumaru City wasn't the best place for a young man from another world, but the Count still had his eyebrows arched in surprise when he came across Theodore bloodied and beaten in the alley behind the Lotus Mall.

"... Foolish boy..."

What had triggered it? Had he insulted someone from Kuss High? Perhaps he had angered the mafia, though they hadn't been properly organized since the Nanjo boy sought to deal with them.

Knowing Theo, he had probably just done something stupid.

The elevator inside Lotus Plaza was out of order. It had been out of order for as long as the Time Castle had been in business, and before even that. One had to wonder if it had ever worked.

The Count walked up to the elevator and pressed the 'Up' button. The mall had been closed for hours, and the security were so spooked by the Count that they always left him alone.

When the elevator doors opened, the Count walked inside to be greeted by the familiar sound of Belladonna's vocals.

The Velvet Room had changed again, from a limousine to an elevator. Though the Count was mildly disappointed that this one wasn't stocked with drinks (human vices were always delicious), he did notice something else. Behind the gate-like wall of the elevator's back spun and clicked beautiful gears and intricate metalwork.

The Crawling Chaos, spurred by his role as the Time Count, walked to the back of the elevator and watched the gears do their work. They were soundless and perfect, making the elevator glide effortlessly into nowhere.
