Perception
A little more on perception - still tired...
Best idea’s happen when you’re half asleep I suppose. So when you’re looking at Tarot cards, you’re not just looking at a person’s future, you’re looking at a doorway. I’m going to give you a quick example by pulling a card and showing you how I read.
Five of Pentacles
When you’re in a situation that seems desperate, hopeless, lost and without much to go on, you can look at in two ways - either take a step back as the follower, or be the leader and take action. It’s up to you how you find your way to sanctuary, neither the cards nor I can find it for you, I can only provide you possible roads to take. Try to look at the situation through a different light, what got you here to begin with, what would you change - how can you change it now? What could you do in the future to prevent this from happening again? What can you do now? What’s blocking you from seeing the picture clearly? These are better questions to ask the cards now, to help figure out where the problem is. This helps my querent’s mind become a little more rested to when a card comes up they’re a little uneasy with too, because now we’re getting them to think a little more clearly by making them ask questions, and answering those questions. Maybe they don’t even need to ask the cards because they’ve figured it out on their own.
Suddenly, their perceptions have changed about what Tarot can do for them, instead of predicting their future, it’s become a problem solving tool. For me, Tarot has helped me tremendously with my MI’s by pinpointing my anxiety issues by making me think “what’s causing my anxiety right now” when I can’t pinpoint the thoughts. This is merely a tool, not a medical device and does not take the place of a therapist or my medication! It does work well with what she’s been teaching me though, and have brought it up with her and my doctor - and do suggest you talk to yours too before trying it yourself! (My doctor let’s me bring my pet’s to his office too).
It’s important to let your clients know what you believe your cards are, and where their power comes from. For me, the cards are just cards. Their tools. I believe in universal energy and personal energy. So I shuffle the cards first, and have my clients shuffle so their energy rubs off on the cards and then I lay out the cards. I tell the clients I am not psychic, and that the true power comes from the conversation. If their stoic, and they’re not expecting much, or not sure what they’re looking for - I will ask them to keep an open mind and heart and I will do my best. If they are completely blocked and try to make me out as a fool, there is only so much I can do.
I know I’m rambling, I don’t do a lot of articles... I’m really tired. Anyways I’m going to post this on http://peacetarot.wordpress.com and would really like it if you can leave a comment and look around. I was doing card a day’s and would like it if you could tell me if I should keep doing them or not. I also have a facebook at facebook.com/peacetarot I’m still working on the kinks throughout the process. I’d really appreciate all the likes, I do updates daily of what I’m up to, daily spreads, pictures, hauls and things like that.
Anyways, thanks for reading.
