so i don't do new years' resolutions but i do like to try and develop a new habit on my birthday every year and this year's was to try new drawing techniques, so here's a little tarloft sketch! π
fun fact, last year's challenge was to write more and it ultimately led to me getting back into writing fanfic π
not to be dramatic but i can't stop thinking of the tarloft being simultaneously big and not being big enough for all the love it's about to contain when they take Jonah in. they've filled that place with so much love for the past couple of years, so many shared warm meals and parties, endless catan nights, hosting family and friends all year long, they loved here and grieved here, they broke up over this very place and reunited in it, got back together stronger than ever. they made love here and had their most vulnerable moments here, both of them proposed here, they curated this space together with so much love and now it's only getting bigger

This evacuation plan is wrong. The tarloft doesn't share its walls with neighbors. The map shows them sharing their bedroom wall with a neighbor when we've seen multiple times that they don't.
You can clearly see the window and trees behind Carlos's head.
Bedroom windows.
Kitchen. Trees are clearly in the window.
Dining room, more windows.
Another window near the front door. Which to me tells me everyone is coming from the right in the hallway, not the left as the map suggests.
Window in the living room.
Every wall has a window in the loft which means they do not share walls with anyone. I'm all for little details like evacuation maps, but I wish they'd actually put more thought into this stuff based on what we've seen on screen through the years.
LS isn't the only one to screw up details. I've seen other shows do the same. Like, if you're gonna add little things like that, be accurate to the information that's been given to us. Don't just slap something together and call it a day.

Ok I had to go Internet sleuthing! In Texas they're not required to have a closet in the bedroom. These are the requirements for what counts as a bedroom as of 2021
