Our planet is part of a set of twins, once known as Terra and Gaea. In ancient times, humans and otherkin would travel back and forth between worlds easily. Since most humans cannot use magic, the trade systems heavily relied on otherkin and sorcerers. Wanting to control that power, humans subjugated anyone with magical abilities. After years of turmoil, it was decided that humans would stay on Terra and otherkin would inhabit Gaea. At the cost of their lives, the seven most powerful otherkin sealed the way off for humans to enter Gaea. In time, the existence of magic slipped into human legend.

Although Gaea was supposed to be a utopia for all otherkin, it did not stay peaceful for long. A bloody war waged between vampires and elves has caused a mass exodus to Terra. The constant travel through the gateways has weakened the barrier and it is now at risk of total collapse.
