Thinkin about Darren Criss' phenomenal acting in TAOGV wyd

Also the thing I loved the most is that literally all the main characters except for Donatella are gay and they are complex, layered characters that are not just gay for the sake of the plot and who actually have lots of trouble they have to face and that have to live with homophobia and the constant fear of being outed and with AIDS and... They were such wonderful characters that are so greatly introduced that they just take a huge step forward into actually normalizing LGBT portrayals on TV. And sure, fucking hell, as soon as the first episodes premiered critics flipped their shits because God bless us from watching a fucking gay club with male strippers without being qualified as 'porn' even though that's definitely not the main point of the story but sure, you can show rape and wild sex as long as it's f/m and you still will be called a masterpiece but okay, I guess we still have a long way to go. Anyway, it was complex and different and it dealt with many of the common problems gay people had to face during the 90s and yes, of course it is more a work of fiction than a journalistic masterpiece but hey so was oj Simpson and I don't see anyone calling it an 'spectacle', but I guess that's because there aren't any gays on it. Anyway. If you can, watch The Assassination of Gianni Versace, you won't regret it.
