ranking the mcr big three is difficult because on one hand Unholyverse is the best written by FAR, asotm has the best plot (imo, idk i just find schizophrenia way more interesting than religion) (religion is cool ofc but the story dragged on and i'm not a fan of ray/mikey shipping) but tbh i just really love taoaf the most it's very good at painting a picture 😭

I just finished this fic and it was so gripping and beautiful
i finished a splitting of the mind. oh wow! and not in the good way....
okay i guess i get why some people like it, and that it was written so long ago it could legally drink but the whole 'frank was broken and he needed fixed' thing was just wrong. its weird as fuck and i hated that whole thing. even if it was meant to be 'gerard doesnt know shit, frank doesnt know shit, theyre trying their best tho' it was just straight-up tasteless. i cant really think of anything i liked about it? it was funny sometimes but i dont think it really shouldve been. also the near-constant "i know things, remember?" WE KNOW GERARD!! maybe ill need to re-read it to understand why people like it so much idk.

#1 The Anatomy Of A Fall - 9/10, interesting and very well-written, also i love the whole small town trope.
#2 Unholyverse - 8.5/10, also awesome, its harder to read if you struggle with religion and what it all means, but its not really pushy or anything. also fuck yeah paranormal shit.
#3 A Splitting Of The Mind - 4.5/10, borderline disrespectful, has a... interesting writing style, abruptly ends with no climax, left me wondering if i had just wasted an entire day reading something that wasnt even that good (i did)
