Hey so. IDK when I started following you but I am in love with your art and your fanfic ideas except....I do not watch transformers. I have vague memories of watching it as a squidlet, but I don't remember enough to know anything about it so uh basically I am looking for advice on what to start watching first? Is there an order, or am I just set free into robot heaven? *A*;; Sorry if this is bothering you!

Honestly, I started with Transformers: Prime myself, and I went into it with only the most basic knowledge of the franchise + some vague hand-wiggly knowledge from the Michael bay movies. Maybe I’m a little biased (because you never forget your first giant robot show) but I think that’s a good one to start with. I like the designs and the characters, the animation is beautiful, and I think it stays pretty true to the main transformers mythos. You just gotta suffer through the first like, five episodes lol.
Transformers Animated (from 2007) is like the highschool AU of TF shows. It has it’s own charm, but was kinda hard for me to get into at first. The last season was pretty baller though, and it can get pretty dark despite it’s shiny exterior.
Beast Wars I can’t say much about? I’ve barely managed to get through the first half of the first season. That’s not because it’s terrible per se (Megatron’s ‘hmm, yes!’ will forever haunt me, though. D: ), I really do love the characters (mostly dinobot and rattrap), but the animation did not age well, and it’s too hard on my eyes.
G1 is perfect for sitting back and just letting it wash over you like a fevered 80′s themed dream. I watched a lot of this in my last year of college because you don’t have to think about it. Just lay back and accept that starscream can totally time travel through a cave and end up making explosives from bird shit as a plot device. it’s all good man. it’s all good.
The new show, Robots In Disguise is supposed to be a continuation of TFP, but so far it’s like vaguely TFP flavored cotton candy, where bumblebee is an exhausted single dad on a never-ending road trip with his rowdy children.
There’s also the comics. :0 but those take a bit more to get into.

Very! Maybe I just started on a good book but I'm very charmed with Miles. What a protagonist. The universe meets him well, too, it's neither a red carpet or a vicious gauntlet, just a big indifferent Thing he's a piece of. I like those kinds of stories better.
