the evening had been normal enough, axel found himself looking over some paperwork for the club when he felt a shift in the air. it felt a bit like the night eve died, though sharper, like bright light had been snuffed out. he felt the shockwaves among the heavens, michael... the great protector was gone ?? that didn’t seem right, until he felt a stronger presence coming from his mother, and things suddenly clicked. his initial impulse was to go to her but if things were as bad as he feared, axel knew the one person she’d want with her. suddenly appearing at tanner’s side in the dancers’ back room, he cleared his throat to get the human’s attention. ❝ you need to get dressed and come with me. now. something’s wrong. ❞
Leo flopped her back onto the wooden planks of the dock with a dramatic huff, long legs dangling over the edge of it as her hands rested on her stomach, rising and falling lazily with her breath. She wrinkled her nose and squinted at the sun’s harsh white rays, curls splayed out from underneath her head. “God, I feel like I’m eleven years old again,” Leo chuckled, turning to look at Tanner. Truthfully, she had only ever gone to summer camp once, and never again, once her parents deemed it was more important to spend hours perfecting skills, she never would really use or even need. “Carmen isn’t on our team, right? A little forbidden love thing going on there?” she joked, wiggling her eyebrows at him before laying back down on the dock. “I guess a little Romeo & Juliet action is good for anyone once in a while.” @tannerisaacs

It was just past dusk, and a soft, dim glow flooded Alderidge with ballerina-like grace and ease. Leo padded through the aisles of books, fingers skimming across spines, both new with fresh ink and old with yellow pages. For a moment, she was overwhelmed with feeling as she pictured all the students who must’ve held the same thing before her. Shrugging it off, she headed to check it out and begin her trek to Beckett Lake before spotting a familiar head of hair. Tanner. An impish grin on her lips, she went up to hit it gently with the cover of the book. Going to sit across from him, Leo placed her chin in the palm of her hand. “That would’ve been really awkward if it hadn’t been you,” she laughed. “How’s Yates’ favorite geek?” @tannerisaacs

coming into her pub a few hours before opening hours, ryder helped herself to some of her alcohol supply. what was the point of owning a place like this if you couldn’t enjoy it now and then ?? and with her genes, it wasn’t like it lasted all that long, by the time opening rolled around she’d be fine. setting down the vodka bottle she’d been nursing as someone entered the pub, she glanced over. ❝ sorry lady, we aren’t open yet. ❞ the demigoddess called out before taking a second look at her. ❝ wait, tanner ?? holy shit... ❞ she trailed off, sliding down the wall she’d been leaning against. while it was nice to see tanner was okay after all these years, seeing her did bring back a lot of horrific memories ryder had locked away.

skylar had worked many, many jobs over the years but none of them came close to the fun she had while working at a nightclub. the music, the lights, the drinks, she loved all of it, maybe a little too much. since the failed attempt at broaching the subject of their future, she’d spent far more time at work than at home. working was just easier than facing those growing frustrations, and then there was the whole thing with going against heaven and no doubt elite angels to get her father’s wings back. both made her head hurt to think about, so tonight she’d decided to let loose for once and worry about her inventory and problems later.
many, many, many drinks and questionable decisions later, she pushed away the random girl doing a body shot off her abdomen as she felt a familiar presence nearby. hopping off the bar, she appeared in front of tanner seconds later, placing a finger against the human’s lips, she giggled. ❝ shh, don’t tell my boss about-- ❞ realizing that she no longer had a boss after buying the place out, the nephalem cut herself off. ❝ wait, no. i mean, hi, how are you ?? ❞ she asked, trying to appear far soberer than she actually was, at the moment.
