Ahhh I finished the tank kitbash! The weathering is always a treat but this one was so much fun. Can't wait to finish the warbond and build something to put it on

I finished my very first tank model this afternoon… it’s a Dragon Sherman M4A1 75mm early version. It was a fun build and a good learning experience. I strayed a little from the instructions when it came to camouflage patterns, colors and markings. I don’t think I’d ever follow them exactly anyway, it's where you get to be creative and make it your own. But unfortunately I’m not entirely pleased with how my paint colors turned out, I was attempting to give it more of a MTO feel. On the brighter side I made some stowage from scratch for the rear and covered it up with some blankets and added wood planks to the front for additional storage. I’m going to bring what I learned on this one to my next one that I’ll be starting soon. Another Dragon M4A1 76mm W Sherman used during operation cobra. I’ll be sure to post pictures of it once it’s completed.

Matilda first coat of primer. A couple of spots to touch up (other than the obvious gun barrel). Used the Mission Models primer. Great coverage and the details really show through. A little frustrated because I had ordered the British colours to paint this (North Africa camo), and last minute I get an email saying the order was delayed because one of the paints was back ordered. Anyway, it will be a while since I did really want to use those paints. Time to work on a different model.
