“Can you speak?” Ilya asks, voice soft and careful. He keeps combing his fingers through Shane’s hair. Shane opens his mouth, tries to produce a word, snaps his mouth closed as more tears rush to his eyes. “Okay, okay,” Ilya moves closer, kissing Shane’s cheek, his nose, his mouth. “You do not need to talk. You do not need words with me. You talk when ready.”

OR: Shane goes non-verbal.

Except the moment Shane's fingers make contact with the shirt that Ilya is wearing, Shane is jerking his fingers away. Thankfully Ilya is too distracted by the rapidly deepening kiss between the two. He doesn't know that Shane's entire mind has screamed a hard NO at the texture of Ilya's shirt. The fabric has Shane's fingers curling into his palms as he tries to not completely physically recoil from Ilya. But god, he needs to touch a different fabric in the next ten seconds or his mind will explode.

“Come swim with me.” Eddie blurts out, using his hands to crawl up the wet sand, stopping at where Buck’s toes sit. “I want you to swim with me.” “Oh.” Buck blinks before a tiny frown appears on his face and he glances down at himself. “I didn’t bring anything to swim in.” Eddie laughs, bright and free up into the stars, “Oh no, I’m going to have to see my best friend naked, whatever will I do?”

“And that’s why you’re our favourite son.” Shane manages to hide his flinch, just barely, and mostly because Ilya is being pulled into a hug by Yuna. Shane bites the inside of his cheek as he watches the way his husband and mom embrace so easily.

So. Ilya starts to plan. Because he has decided his husband deserves to be proposed to. Honestly, Shane deserves the entire world, the moon, and all the stars in the universe. Something Ilya has whispered while peppering kisses along Shane’s skin, tracing constellations between his freckles, feeling the skin warm as Shane blushes at the comment. God, Ilya loves that man.

Yuna laughs quietly, then sighs. “The doctors still don’t understand what is happening. His vitals and brain function is fine, normal. But he won’t wake up.” Ilya’s lips curve into a small smile, “Like Sleeping Beauty.” That earns him another laugh from Shane’s mom, “Yes. He just needs true love’s kiss to wake up. Good thing you’re coming then, hm?”

A car accident leaves Shane in a coma. But it's okay, his Prince Charming is coming to wake him up.

Why is he so bothered by Eddie going on a date with a man? Actually, scratch that last part, because Buck knows it isn’t the gender thing. He’s thought it over. And he truly thinks if Eddie had told Buck he was going on a date, he’d be this bothered too. But that only makes things even more confusing. Because Eddie is…he’s not Buck’s, and so he can date whoever he wants. Although the whole Eddie going on a date with a man does matter. Simply because it means…well, it means that Eddie is an option. Buck is an option. And Eddie didn’t ask him.
