Tanefrun and What’s In Store For Her Future
With the arrival of Argus above Azeroth, and the news that her lost father is indeed alive, for me--there has been much speculation as to what I plan to do with Tanefrun and her future, and contemplating her character and reviewing the things I have discovered about her with how her life has been laid out for her.
I’m just going to be posting some musings about her character and the future(s) that the paths for are laid out for her, and sharing this content is something I’ve been waiting to do! (Whether you like her or not, development is always enjoyable!)
Tanefrun Stormhelm is extremely special to me, and is one of the most complex characters I have created who is still not an adult. There is stuff to her past that she herself doesn’t know about, which contributes to an anonymity around the prominent figures in her past, such as her biological mother.
I have yet to consider where she will fit in, as her mother is a driving force within the Illidari, and has shaped her life to creating a safer world for her child. No doubt she will have made her way onto Argus as well.
Now, to reflect on Tanefrun’s past. A perspective that I received from my best friend (who happens to own Ashraf’s character) explained to me that her life basically plays out like a child soldier. Although she did so willingly, she engaged in the fight against the common evil. She will not have a chance to live through her childhood, as projected through the course of Legion, she will be using whatever effort she has to stop the Legion’s incursion and to fight alongside her father. This harbors another regret for her, as she never really made an effort to spend time with him when she had the liberty to.
Gazing into the future for Tanefrun as she considers whether or not to sneak onto the Vindicaar and fight on Argus is the fate of her and her father.
Of course, a happy future is what we all hope for. Tanefrun lives to have a child, and an ancient Draenei father is overjoyed to see that she can finally have happiness, and they can live in peace.
Or... he dies on Argus, and becomes encased in a Vigilant body, and angst ensues.
There’s many options as to where I can take Tanefrun’s story, and I just wanted to share the bare-bones thoughts of this process since I’m so busy!
