15. Why are tampons so expensive?
Alright, someone had to ask.
Money is tight, and it's that time of the month. For tampons alone, it is going cost an average of $6.79 per box, at 9 boxes of tampons per year: $61.11. That’s is a completely unavoidable cost that is thrown upon 50% of the world. I guess I can see the argument that they cannot be 100% paid for by the government, but why are these products allowed to be so over priced. Why is there an large industry and even larger profit margin for this product?

Overall, I think this is complete bullshit and unethical.
This is 100% manipulation of the customer because this product is inelastic. This product is a necessity, therefore no matter the price, they will still be purchased. “We” are not united if we are making a profit off of one gender.
