the nightlife was never for him.Β
on rare occasions when the moon was full, its power invigorated animals across the scene back home. night markets and pop-up shops could be found on the end of every block. sometimes, within the community park, would be tents full of delicious homemade meals and clothing for other creatures to indulge themselves in. though the moon had not reached its potential on this particular evening, it had not stopped legosi from traversing the empty streets by his lonesome.
truth be told, this was just the most convenient time to do a little bit of shopping. not having to wait in any lines nor bumping into anyone during the morning rush; no having to reach over unsuspecting people, nor instilling fear into anyone with his mere presence.Β everything was at peace.Β
. . . seemingly so, at first glance.Β
it wouldnβt be a normal night out for legosi if he had not witnessed any sort of trouble. being that he lived near one of the more dangerous parts of town, he was always bound to see some sort of residual unnerving activity. some nights had been merely petty incidents; watching drunk individuals stumble home, or witnessing men slip into motels within the red light district. nothing that concerned the young wolf all too much.Β
but tonight was going to be different.Β
his ears pick up a sound he had not heard since his arrival. the sounds of a struggle-- yelling and scuffling, a fight very clearly in the works. though it was not the argument that caused him to run towards the fray.Β
it was the heavy stench of blood that wafted over his keen senses.Β
β HEY! β he barks over the calamity, skittering to a stop at the abandoned lot where this had all been taking place. he drops his bag of groceries in the dirt. whatever the situation had been, legosi could not allow it to move on any further.
β YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE!Β β
