Talking to the Moon: Kayla & Theo
Kayla flopped exhausted onto her bed, casting her gaze about the room and out the window. The silver shine from the moon gave her room an eerie glow, casting stark shadows on the walls and floor from her packed boxes. There were only a couple of them, having downsized greatly to move across country. Looking around though, seeing the room so bare and empty of her most prized things, was so creepy.
As panicked sadness started to sweep over her, Kayla picked up her phone. She needed to do something else. Something to focus upon that wasn’t the room around her. Her contacts rolled by as she moved through them until she found the contact she was looking for. Hot Stuff. The label made Kayla chuckle. Who knew the man who is so grumpy in the mornings, if that first morning is anything to go by, had a sense of humor? If only I’d put a funny label in his phone. They’d texted a couple times since he left Nevada, but not anything really lengthy. He was busy often; at least he had ambitious, right?
[Text to: Hot Stuff] It’s so freaky being in my bare-ish room. Distract me please? Tell me something random about you?
