Hi I just self-diagnosed as having ADD & wondered if a couple of issues I've got are down to it? I find it hard to tear myself away from stuff, like scrolling through tumblr when I should be going to work or turn off the bath tap, even though I can see the things need doing right then. Also I often say the wrong words, like going shopping for shampoo and instead I say shower gel cos I don't stop to think through what I'm gonna say maybe? What do you think please? Thanks!

The first thing sounds like inertia, which is a common type of executive dysfunction (which is a huge part of ADHD). I struggle with it a lot!
The other thing also sounds familiar, and your reasoning makes sense to me. Once I said “she” when I meant “you” in conversation; another time I woke someone up with a phone call and said “That’s okay” instead of waiting for them to say it. Oops! I also have word-finding problems a lot, and my husband jokes about “the thing in the thing with the thing, you know, under the thing!” but it’s a real issue for me sometimes.
