lightleap and sunbeam are both absent parents in different ways. lightleap is like her kids cool aunt who shows up once a year and teaches them how to do skateboard tricks because she isn't sure what else to do with them and she doesn't want them to realise she's kind of a loser so they don't fully process how little she's around until they're much older. sunbeam is the looming shadow haunting her kids narrative who is always just barely out of reach but still there enough for them to think of a life that could've been if she was less miserable and she hates herself for the distance between them but she would rather not know them at all than risk having them live the same childhood she did with berryheart

why does anyone like nightheart genuinely he's extremely insufferable

goldenpaw inherited her mother's bpd but warrior cats don't know what bpd is. unfortunately she is way too social to isolate herself like her mother does and gets too clingy too quickly and she's too much and she's too little and everyone leaves and moonpaw left and she was her best friend what's she meant to do without her? everyone tells her they won't leave but they do they do they do! she can't meld herself into what anyone wants her to be anymore and she doesn't want to be alone but oh god maybe its best for everyone if she is! the only person who has ever told her that they won't leave is her sister and goldenpaw still can't bring herself to believe her but shinepaw is all she has left to cling to. everyone gets sick of her eventually but its so so so nice to feel like she's loved just for a little so she always falls for it and it always just winds up getting her hurt
