We have travelled through a variety of periods to check the different ways of using psychedelia in a multitude of pieces and we quite slowly ended up on the modern musical landscape. However, a question remains β what contemporary genre might have interpreted the concept the most idiosyncratically? My personal answer to that might be chillwave, because the style takes the notion, but the members of the brand refract the latter through the indie pop aesthetic. There are many players in that idiom, but Toro Y Moi could be seen as the most interesting. Then again, he doesn't like the moniker chillwave, yet I would dare to say his debut, Causers Of This, could be counted among the important works of the form. He puts his own peculiarities on the mode, showing us the reason he persisted.
