TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OFF 👙 I am reminded time and time again just how far I’ve come in my journey to love my body unconditionally. Swipe right 👉🏼 for some photos of me during a time where I’d only swim in baggy t-shirts or tank tops to hide my body. To be honest, I would usually avoid activities that involved the water because of how uncomfortable they made me. I’d turn down invites to go and hang by the ocean or swim in the lake because I was embarrassed. I’d watch other girls laughing, playing, swimming and enjoying themselves and think to myself “wow, it must be nice”. How fu*king horrible is that? That’s no way to live! I never thought it would be an option for me to go swimming in my undies on a whim. I thought I’d feel self-conscious forever. I’m not even entirely sure when the switch happened from rocking a bikini as a kid to hiding as much of my body as I could. It was gradual. It was years of judging myself and comparing myself I guess. Fast forward to a moment yesterday where after a beautiful hike the ocean was just calling us. I’d be lying if I didn’t for a second think: “Oh gosh, I haven’t shaved my legs for a while” Or “My tan is gone and my white skin is blinding” I’ve still got some work to do. But the best part was that not once did it cross my mind to say no to this experience because of the shape/size of my body. It’s not always about the transformation photos or the big wins. Sometimes the very special moments are these right here. Saying “yes” to what my heart truly wants instead of the fake “no” that I used to be so good at. #bodypositivemovement #takeyourclothesoff #nakedswim #vancouverislandbc #eastsooke #oceanswim #lgbtqcommunity #lgbtqbodypositivity #mindsetcoaching #loveyourbodynow #selflovefirst (at East Sooke Regional Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKIL56Xnmam/?igshid=180whqcl5gmi5
