Sukhi grows up in foster care, jostled from one home to the next. It's not ideal to develop normally, in terms of pheromones, as safety is essential for the system to kickstart and for presentation to go smoothly. Therefore, he's late and half-convinced he's a Beta by the time it happens. Thankfully, he's in Mariama's home, and Mariama's always been safe. Can't say the same for all the people he's grown up around.

Still, he doesn't smell much, and for a few years the heats are infrequent in a way that hints he could be infertile, or not particularly potent. That's ok; the places he's starting to slither into are not very easy to access to male omegas, and with just a hint of suppressant he can pass as a non-threatening beta and get on with work.

It's annoying, because as soon as he meets Pali he wants the younger boy's friendship and approval so bad, but that's also when his body decides that things should click, and he has to up the suppressants, now, because he's starting to smell and the heats are growing in intensity and regularity.

He deals with them by himself, and, occasionally, a boy he grew up with in foster care that was around when he presented. Nothing too romantic, just business. Safer that way.

Pali's close to finding out a few times. Suppressants going out like candles in the wind, or when Sukhi enters the boxing room and is hit with pheromones from everywhere, his own system going into overdrive in response.

Jaahan stares and sniffs, sometimes, as if she's searching for something, but can't quite put her finger on it. He can't help but be a barrier between her and Pali, even though he knows that they make sense, that they'll end up together -- it's just that he's been around Pali for so long, been so soothed by having him around, that he can't help but want more for himself.

He does the laundry for the boxers, sometimes, picks up the dirty clothing they let strewn all over the floor, and he pilfers some of Pali's, because it smells nice. His whole place already smells like Pali, anyway, even though he spends more time in Pali's flat than his own.

imagine. instead of himself, kulijinder sent pali to attend the wedding. Pali is at the corner all 😐😐 while sukhi is beside him appearing not animated for once and sunny sees him across the room and nudges krish, whos that and why is he looking like someone died? And krish is like uh... that is pali bhaiya, he's uh.... family friend yk? and sunny at some point dares rohan to flirt with him but rohan refuses and is like, even you wouldnt flirt with him! and so sunny goes to prove him wrong.

THEIR first meet after makes me sick. also sunny defo did everything to find where rohan was after they parted, maybe he did. maybe he didnt.

rohan just wont pick up his call in any way. and sunny was guilty enough to not dismiss rohans "i dont wanna see your face again" thing. cool. you dont ever wanna see me again? let me type you up a letter.

+ the first time rohan says his name and sunny just seems so taken aback.

the events start with sunny killing someone for/to protect rohan and ends with rohan killing for sunny and both losing each other from it. DOOMED. they cannot save each other. ever.

also what do you think would have happened,if rohan really did manage to take sunny far away with him, like he promised pali here.

in this scene sunny payed like 0 attention to kuljinder? got me a bit confused. but maybe he needes them to get out quick? idk.

sukhi is very expressive guy, i wonder how pali can ignore if he looks at pali with too much love. and maybe sukhi knows that so he looks away, smiling to himself and lighting another cig to be a lil less "cruel"

I wonder how it's like in show format because the only one I've ever found was the movie one. I think the scenes are the same without any added ones?

Ah ah don't you love when the narrative comes full circle and the reason why you fall into tragedy is to protect someone except they don't manage to protect you in the end. Don't YOU?

I think Eastern Wind type forced domesticity would have happened except Rohan's barely hanging on and Sunny is restless and they're both sad and angry and Arfa's wondering if she should come play peacekeeper or if she's even wanted in their fucked up little equation that can't be solved.

I think Sunny didn't pay attention to Kuljinder because his whole focus was now on Pali? And also because Kuljinder's as good as dead.

The worst 'Sukhi likes Pali too much' is that phone call where Pali is distraught at Jassi's death and Sukhi's voice goes all wobbly like he's literally about to cry, not necessarily because of Jassi's death but because Pali's mad. SAVE! HIM!

Well, Sukhi's body language was definitely a specific choice because he doesn't do all the ~ wiggly worm ~ with other characters. He's very slinky. It's very funny in contrast to Pali who's like a rock.
