Ngl… it sucked. I say this as a Seventeen stan a Holy-Quartet-having, line-distributing, MV-pausing-for-S.COUPS’-jawline stan. But let’s be real. His Met Gala 2025 appearance? It gave nothing. Like, okay, I get it. He wore a hanbok. Cultural pride, check. But the theme was literally “Tailored for You” with a specific nod to Black Harlem fashion—aka the birthplace of dandyism, unapologetic self-expression, and statement tailoring that said, “I’m here, I matter, I look good doing it.” And what did we get? A hanbok with a vest. No hat. No cane. No interpretation. He stood there, raised an eyebrow, and dipped. Bro… what were we supposed to do with that? Meanwhile, people showed up with full narratives sewn into their looks. Literal stories embroidered in fabric. Fusion silhouettes. Accessories that meant something. Meanwhile Seungcheol looked like he was late to a minimalist wedding photoshoot in Insadong. People can keep saying “he looked fine” or “he was respectful” but that’s the bare minimum. This was the Met Gala. Respect is required. Fashion was expected. Interpretation was the assignment. Anyway. I still love him. But I’m not glazing a dry vest.
