Okay so this is like kinda complicated but basically: There's a bug species in a comic i read (comic isn't important here) called a tailmic. It's like a person sized centipede, and it disguises itself psychically as a notail (think a human that wears a mask and has antennae and that's it) now like. Imagine if the caretaker had one. The resident higher beings see through the glamour and see a giant wyrm, but everyone else? just a regular human! Why's the king so freaked out?!
PK: So your friend wears a mask 24/7.
CT: Ya
PK: And has antennae that aren’t attached to their mask or a headband.
CT: Yup
PT: And neither of these things or normal for humans to have or do ever.
CT: Not really no.
PT: So they aren’t human.
CT: They’re wearing a costume because they are a huge dork, where did you even get this idea?
PK: *Looks into the camera like he’s in The Office*

oh gods what if PK somehow god-magics the tailmic into sentience. cue the thing turning out to be an absolute gremlin who WILL use its disguise powers for mischief.
Honestly giving them sentience would be really cute though. Tailmics are really docile and are pretty friendly. When talked to they’ll just nod or hum, not in response, but because they are just happy to be talked to. They are smart compared to most animals, enjoying solving logic puzzles and quite socially intelligent to the point they’ll work together to form simple structures to escape danger together.
They are also only really able to mimc notails. Lemme get an image comparison from the cosmodex entries.

So just imagine this social and friendly tailmic suddenly becoming sentient. You can’t convince me that wouldn’t be cute as hell.
