I’m doing my best to practice animation, so I tried another tail flick. I did infact manage to get ffmpeg to work, not sure how, but i did it.

In this blog post, I want to talk about Squirrels. Such an average yet interesting creature most of us observe in our daily lives. In a way, I feel like their only purpose is to bring reason for acorns to exist. That, and to mock us as when we get to close they run up the nearest tree and look down on our flaws in our tree climbing capability. Although they are pointless pieces of rot, I do admit they can be pretty funny. What other animals manage to stretch their face out in order to store food? I know I find it hilarious when I see one of those little guys making such a determined effort to fit as much as they can in their fuzzy cheeks before bolting to their prized cache. Something else that I find interesting is their unique behavior.

One of the most interesting things that squirrels do is flick their tails. One of the most common reasons I hear they do this is a way of showing that they are annoyed or worried. I have often observed squirrels flicking their tails when another squirrel comes and threatens their area of food scavenging. I think this may be a way of letting the other squirrel know not to come closer. In that sense, it could be a type of squirrel communication. Apart from the interesting way they act, squirrels are adorable.

One of the best qualities of squirrels is their big beady eyes. You could stare at them and see all the joy in the world in just two little black beads shining with wonder. Their hands are also so tiny and precious. In comparison to the rest of their bodies, their hands are so small and fragile, one just feels so compelled to just hold and protect them.
