Week 1 Assignment
After chasing into my work for ideas, and interests that could be the take[n] hold for the next six weeks in my artistic practice I decided to develop a little research around the idea of TAG, as a noun, as a verb, as an object.
I've been using tags recently as a way to highlight β in the space I'm working β keywords, loose ideas, quotes, names, and everything I consider essential to me. Besides, I don't consider a tag necessarily a textual sign; I'm starting with words because I love them. I adore text fragments, and I'm letting it be more evident in my artwork. But I also want to connect texts, like tags, with images, as I did before.
The first basic questions I want to investigate right now are: What is a tag? What is the composition of a tag? How are tags used? How can I use tags? What are the specificities of a tag that differs it from other kinds of signs? Is tag a kind of sign? If so, is it a sign of what?
