The employment form was set on the table without even a word spoken as the man who placed it refilled his guest's tea. Not an application, but rather the information an employer would need to know to pay properly. One of the charms in the window of the teahouse twisted, catching the light just right to cast a rainbow across the form.
"Bring it to the counter when you're ready."
(you know who this is and who it's for.)
______
Alec gave a quiet "Thank you" at the refill, but he was surely confused at the paper placed in front of him. His eyes widened slightly as he picked it up, only just starting to figure out what it was for as he looked it over.
He peered over the back of the chair at the man, then to the form, and to the man again. This had to be a mistake, right? Right? He hadn't even applied here. Was he looking for a job? Yes. But he didn't think he had said anything about that when he'd ordered. How did he know?
Oh. Oh, no. What was going on? He quickly turned back around to his original position, setting the paper down before hurriedly sipping at his tea, trying to avoid a panic attack.... It was strange that the feeling that had flooded his body just... it just left. He knew magic like this, well, maybe it was like this. He didn't know a whole lot about magic. The point in his head was, he did something similar, only with baking.
He leaned forward, looking at the paper like he was afraid to touch it. Position: Baker. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end from goosebumps, even if he found it impossible to panic. How did he know he was a baker?
It took him a moment, but he decided he should just fill it out. He wouldn't give it to him. Not yet. He had questions. If he didn't like the answers, he'd just keep the page and run.
The deer fae was timid upon approach, holding the paper close to his chest. "Excuse me....? I... A-are you sure this isn't a mistake?" He asked in a hushed tone, swallowing the lump in his throat (yes, the tea is working, he'd be much more of a mess if it wasn't). "I didn't apply for any job... Not here."
