I do think there needs to be some sort of conversation had about cal strider from guidestuck and how transmisogyny affects the ways she is portrayed & fanonized. I exclusively use she/her for cal because I wholeheartedly believe that there were (perhaps subconscious) transmisogynistic feelings behind making her (word of God, mind you, not comic confirmed) genderfluid. Ultimately when you have a character like cal, who is already somewhat being treated like a joke outside of her gender, adding onto that by saying "don't worry, you can disrespect her explicit wishes and refer to her in masc ways because she's actually genderfluid" is just odd in my opinion, not to mention the fact that she was made a bard (another way of treating her gender issues like a joke). It all makes the genderfluid thing feel like a cop out so that people are allowed to misgender the transfem character.
