"It's going to be a good day," Lucky says aloud, unsure himself if his words were for Theo's benefit or him and Tabitha's. With their daughter between him and one of her hands in one of theirs as they strolled into the school grounds, they presented a far more relaxed picture than Lucky and Tab's text chain over the last two weeks would have.
( He had cooled it on the do's and don'ts articles and posts he was firing into the chat when he realised he was freaking them both out more than anything else. )
A quick glance around and Lucky can see that he and Tab were younger than almost all of the other parents present and it makes him wonder if their situation was equally as much of an outlier.
Once they've halted, he looks from Tabitha's face down at Theo's which always struck him as a near identical mini version of hers with hints of him in her features. If he was the one of three of them who managed to not cry, he'd considering that winning Kindergarten: Day One.
He kneels down so he was at her height, letting her keep a hold on his hand until she felt ready to let go of it.
"It might be a little scary at first, but that's okay, because it's going to be a whole lot of fun too just like the Ferris Wheel."
She had taken that in her stride even when they had reached the highest peak of it and he had been endlessly proud of her for it, just like he was there and then.
"And we'll be right here to pick up afterwards so you can tell us about all the cool things you got to do -- right mom?" He says, tagging Tab in.
