Finally finished! CW: self-hate
I tried to visually recreate a scene from @tomb-bloom-noctem βs βThe Attempt and The Aftermathβ Ducktales story on AO3, depicting Donald at the lowest point of his life. While I donβt want to glorify some of the sad scenes in this story, I feel the need to explore this world visually as it is beautifully written and as a visual kind of person, I canβt help myself lol.
Hopefully some other (and better) artists will also make some fanart of this story. The author and this story needs more love!

hi im going insane over your ducktales fanfic. still reading it, left a couple comments, but i wanted to toss something here too. your writing is awesome, you handle everything so... realistically? idk, as someone whos been there, each perspective is written just so slightly different, just enough to convey the character and their disabilities, traumas. the show glossed over so much of this, and you fleshed it out so beautifully. i hope youre having a nice day and you can appreciate your hard work in writing. excited to read chapter 14 and 15. i know its so unlikely, but if you ever did decode to come back to it itd be a dream come true. im kinda talking in circles, but yeah. you rule

And actually I am working on Chapter 16! Unfortunately what happened was I was working on it early to mid year 2024. Then I lost a very close friend and then my phone broke (which is where I do my writing) and my backup file was corrupted without my knowledge until I had to go access it! Uuugh still hurts my heart just thinking about it.
All of that really broke my will to work on it for a while but! I am not out of the writing space yet. I am determined to see this project through. I never anticipated it would turn out so big or so loved (or hated based on some responses I've gotten lol) This August will be 5 years of The Attempt & The Aftermath! Absolutely crazy.
But yeah so basically - no word yet on when Chapter 16 is coming out. But it is actively being worked on when I can. My hope is before summer of 2025. I would love to post more than once a year again but ugh currently that's not what my brain is giving me. So gotta play it as the inspiration and ability to focus hits.

Chapter 16 is titled "Living is Harder" and I think it's going to be one of the most important chapters of the whole story. And I want to craft it to the best it can be, if not perfection, for that reason. But I also hope to not keep everyone waiting too long. ππ thank you again.
Hey friends bad news for those waiting on the next chapter of The Attempt & The Aftermath. I'm sorry to inform yall but I've busted 2 phones in one month (icy weather is no joke) and have lost 12K worth of words between TA&TA's next chapter, an Apex Legends fic I was working on, and the next chapter of my Sonic fanfic. I'm feeling very defeated right now not gonna lie. I even spent 40 dollars on a special adapter to try to recover the files. Nothing I did worked. They're gone and at this point I've trashed the phones.
As much as I hate using it, I'll from now on be using Google Docs instead of my notes app for writing. I'm feeling incredibly discouraged from writing at the moment due to everything I lost. Don't get me wrong. I will get back to writing TA&TA. Hopefully soon. But it's going to take longer than I had hoped because of the phones breaking. Sorry for the wait.
Roughly 80% done with this next chapter of TA&TA. Finally identified a NEED for this chapter I've been lacking all the time. I hope those of you still reading it will find it worth the wait. No guarantees when. But it's coming.
