hi nonnie! awesome to hear those are things you agree with! i totally get you - i have a soft spot for tumblr and enjoy seeing the roleplays that people are putting effort into opening here. it really sucks that it seems the platform has kind of taken steps backward in terms of how easy it was to write and roleplay on here when you compare how it is now to even just like five years ago.

through the past few years, i’ll say from my observation it seems that the preference for roleplaying on tumblr has shifted towards mewe and discord. i can’t say for sure what the reasons behind this might be, but i think app accessibility and chatting features might have really had a hand in this. mewe allows direct and group dms with chat features that gives space for ic interactions to simulate texting or face to face conversations. the same can be said for discord tuppers which allows users to switch between multiple muses at once! mewe and discord as apps also allows a little more focus on establishing a closed and dedicated space for the roleplay versus tumblr.

though not as popular or in demand, it seems there is still a good portion of the community that prefers tumblr as a roleplaying platform considering the roleplays that are active and those that recently popped up. if you are someone who prefers tumblr, i would say not to fret since community members are putting in the work to keep the tumblr side of roleplay alive!
