I highly suggest you check all tags and warnings that comes with this story because this isn’t for people who get easily triggered by dark and taboo themed stories.

tbh I haven’t read a lot of dark-themed stories with Jin as the lead so finding this one on ao3 was definitely a blessing but I’m ngl this scared me because his mind is filled with dark desires for MC and if you’re an immersive reader like me you will feel torn because you have an idea of how sick his mind is, how sadistic his fantasies are, how stomach-churning his actions were and more yet he’s also someone who’s part of your life who you wanted to save and protect from loneliness, you were his salvation, you’re the object of his affection but unbeknownst to you this affection he holds for you is the same thing that fuels his desire to own you and end you at the same time.

honestly, CAKE Seokjin is a very interesting character, he is a mystery, how he turned that way we’ll never know for it felt like things happened overnight, the bright boy becoming shy and consumed by dark curiosity at a young age. he was also bullied but he never really cared until MC entered his life and it was flipped, he started to smile again, his life much happier with her presence, she was the light of his life oh god I’m having goosebumps trying to recall every thought Jin had he was sweet and dark at the same time it’s tearing me to pieces.

I had moments where I keep forgetting that he’s got a mad mind because there are times where he’ll seem like a normal lovestruck guy until his dark thoughts come crawling back, I enjoyed it whenever they talk/interact, their cute text exchange where both of them were giddy because they like each other but on different levels, Jin was fantasizing about MC because it gives him pleasure (immerse and enjoy his sinful thoughts for MC + their quick dinner date, the walk home, the hug, the kiss, it will make you lose your mind and fall for him in a heartbeat only to take it back because he is insane), and MC was just there thinking of how to respond to his sudden invite the contrast between them is so painfully obvious but again this is Seokjin so he will charm the hell out of you.

this is a really dark on-going series and I believe we’ll get to know more about what will happen once the sleepover happens and if Jin will act on his need to have her, take her because she was God’s gift to him. would God really give him someone like her? I really wanna talk more about this but you know I’ll end up spilling everything and also there are so many possibilities in the future chapters that’s playing in my head, what if it’s the end or what if she turns the tables and make Jin change his mind? or what if she succumbs to his dark fantasies and be one with him and be the girl he’s always dreamed of, doing anything and everything with him?
