The 100 | Sea Mechanic | Selkie!Luna | 4x10 Canon Divergence AU | Rated T
Luna kom Floukruâs destiny wasnât in the conclave with her brother to lead a bloodthirsty people, and it certainly wasnât winning a conclave now to lead the last of humanity in their final days.
Her destiny had always laid under the sea.
Dedicated to @kinetic-elaboration and inspired by her Luna/Lincoln fic, The Sea. enjoy!
Luna fled her second conclave without a second backwards glance. When the black rain started she knew they wouldnât have a chance, so she left Roan and Octavia to battle it out under the downpour of onyx glass.
The fat drops soaked her curls as she ran through Polis. The fallen city was a maze, one she was familiar with from a lifetime ago, but it was now empty of all signs of life.
She passed the dead bodies of the champions, some she herself had slain in battle. The sight of their mangled bodies in the inky, dark mud made her stop in her tracks. The adrenaline from the final conclave was crashing down around her. She spit out a mixture of nightblood and vomit. Doubling over in pain, from the blows she had received, Luna began to gasp for air. It felt like the black rain was choking her, trying to take away her life. She clawed at her neck, ripping the sigil of her clan from her body. The metal tag clinked across the cobbled stones in harmony with the tinkering rain.
Once she had caught her breath and composed herself, she looked down at the ground. Darkness had fallen, but in the glistening black rain, she could see the symbol of her clan reflecting on the necklace. She sat down on a rusted chair in the alleyway that she had stumbled across, thankfully, hidden from view. It groaned under her weight but held her up. Her body sighed in relief for the rest.
What would she do now? Where would she go?
The black rain was only the start. Praimfaya was coming. She couldnât return to the fight. She couldnât turn to the Bunker. She had declared her fight for No One. She had wanted to fight for Death. None of the clans deserved the peace of the underground shelter, especially not Skaikru. She would not return to Polis to see humanity in their final fight for survival.
âAi gonplei ste odon,â Luna spoke, her whisper floated on the wind that whipped around the walls of the city. Her fight was over.
She picked up the Floukru symbol and traced the circle of waves.
âKom woda âso gyon op, gon woda âso kom daun,â she spoke louder this time hoping the wind would carry her words back to the sea. From the water, we are born to the water we return.
To the sea.
The wind quieted down around her and the swarthy shower turned into a smoky drizzle above her. Luna shivered. Her clothes were soaked to her skin, and she could feel the cold seeping down into her bones. She took in a shuddering breath of damp air.
It tasted briny, like the salt of the ocean, and metallic, like blood. It filled her lungs and oxygenated her veins. The salt hummed to life inside her body and she wanted more.
She wanted all of it. The water surrounding her. The smell of the surf. The expansion of turquoise under an endless sky.
To the sea.
It was calling to her now. A whip of wind blew around her and she could hear it. Begging for her to finally return home.
To the sea.
