He’s really isn’t fun at all, he’s a huge jackass lol
I don’t want to spoil too much on his character yet because he goes through a lot of physical and emotional hell in his lore, but basically Love Bug is on patrol and is forced to work with CC (Cosmic Cupid) and complains the whole time because neither wants to do their job where they take turns dragging each other through their missions. But he does soften up later thanks to CC.

Do you think Shrike ever pays for a date? I feel like Beebs would get stuck with the bill more often than not
No you're absolutely right, Shrike loves being pampered and spoiled far far more. He'll avoid the bill as much as he can. Beebs lets it pass a couple times when it's cute, but more often than not he gets Shrike to pay his half at the very least. No matter how much Shrike complains.
I'd imagine there was a few rare occasions where Shrike felt particularly generous, and by that I mean the guilt started eating him little by little from the inside and he decided to save up some cash to treat Beebs something nice for a change. He wouldn't tell Beebs that, tho. Shrike just had "some money to spare".

This. This part right here is was sold me. Right when he started to laugh nervously and then I get hit with him saying “shy” which is how I pronounce my nickname “Chy” I was done for. I knew it was too late for me after that. The rest of the episode my eyes were just glued to him.
