There was a scoff, a mumbling of words that didn't quite make sense. "that's not--!" She began but the look on her father's face was enough for her lips to snap shut. She was still afraid of him, still afraid of what he would do, say. He hasn't even raised a finger and she still felt herself inwardly flinch. She told her self that she was much stronger than this, that she could handle her father but clearly that's not the case.
"Fine. Maybe you're right. Maybe that's because I took after you." There was a bite to her tone, one waiting to be unleashed. It's taken years of courage to be able to stand up for herself, to fight back. She knew she was a bratty little princess. She knew she thought just because she had lien that she could get away with anything. That daddies money could make things go away.
But not anymore. Not that she needed anything from her father. She had friends now, people who actually care about her and have shown her there's more to the world than what she thought she knew. "But now, I know better. I'm not perfect. I'll never be that version of me that you seemed to care so much about. I've made mistakes, we all have and I'm learning from them. Something you should probably try yourself." That was wishful thinking. Jacques Schnee always thought he was right, always thought he knew what was best for him and everyone around him. There are things that will never change.
