A true pioneer of Texas and electric blues, T-Bone Walker is one of the most important figures in the formative years of modern blues. Much of Walker’s music was recorded before LP’s dominated the music industry. 1959′s T-Bone Blues stands out as one of Walker’s best albums, a compilation of songs recorded since the mid 1940s.
“Call It Stormy Monday” is the most recognizable track on the album, having been covered numerous times. One of the most noticeable aspects of the album is the use of the sax, giving the album a bit of a jazzy vibe. T-Bone Walker touches on a good variety of sounds on this album, pulling influence from early delta blues to more contemporary jazz.
