Some old guy said "thanks son" to me at work today it was the nicest most affirming interaction I have ever had I wanted to cry (not from sadness)
Ooh I think my eyebrows, stomach and wispy little mustache are getting bushier/hairier :0 that's not typically the stuff that happens stuff but considering my genetics it checks out that my body's first order of business would be to make me a nice coat of fur akakskwkdkandjs

Feel free to ignore: Do you have a particular opinion on fics where the author decides to interpret a given character as ftm or mtf, if that character never really behaved in a way in canon that makes the viewer think they are struggling with their identity?
hmmmm
this is kind of a complicated question to answer because my opinions on particular trans headcanons would vary based on the character itself you know? (and the reasons of the headcanon-er) but Iāll share a few of my thoughts
i guess #1 is that no I donāt think thereās anything offputting about trans headcanons for characters that are confident in themselves and their identities, itās actually really cool to see. like inspiring or whatever. i think having an attitude of loving yourself so much you donāt care what other people think of you is absolutely a possible trans experience and itās a lot of the reason why I personally headcanon noya from haikyuu as trans, because heās a tiny short guy that still thinks heās the coolest manliest thing ever
a lot more of my trans headcanons do come from characters that express insecurities though because i find that relatable or whatever
my biggest pet peeve with trans headcanons though is (and this might be what youāre getting at?) characters that canonically, say, identify as a boy and instead of headcanoning them as a trans boy people headcanon them as a trans girl. it just seems disrespectful i guess? to the way the character self-identifies, unless thereās some reason for it, or if you as a trans person relate to something in them
but like the most often i see it happen with boys (headcanoned by cis girls) with no particular identity insecurity who express some kind of feminine-coded trait, like i remember one male character that was headcanoned as a trans girl simply because out of all the other male characters he was the most shy and soft-spoken, or even one that acted completely averagely masculine but was pretty appearance-wise, and i just like⦠i know you guys are trying to be progressive or something but youāre literally reinforcing the gender binary actually by saying characters who express feminine traits must identify as girls⦠I see it with masculine girl characters too ((cough pidge⦠who if anything is nb))
but yeah basically i dont like trans headcanons that go against how the character identifies in canon, exceptions being non-binary headcanons (because there are basically no canon nb characters) and stuff like, my one that i headcanon differently is hungary from hetalia, because their story is that they literally thought they were a boy growing up until someone told them they were a girl and then they were likeĀ āoh⦠i guess i have to act like a girl nowā but it seemed forced and uncomfortable for them so yeah ((what i absolutely dont get is how some people headcanon hungary as a trans girl because it was definitely an outside influence that caused their change not something they decided⦠but anyways))
I hope that answers your question kind of? bottom line i guess is that iām of the opinion that if you want a character to be (binary) trans you should make them trans in the way that correlates with their canon identity or else it just rubs me the wrong way for various reasons
