People rage about how this or that tv show can't have gay characters, because "it's a family show", "the show is not about that", "just wait your turn", "not everybody's gay", etc.
Slash and femslash couples are systematically excluded from online polls, interviews, etc.
And when we criticize either of those things other fans immediately erase the gay elephant in the room and talk about how their heterosexual fan pairing will never be canon, either.
Would anyone please tell me how I'm not supposed to see homophobia and heterosexism in that.
