What Is “System Interrupts” Process Doing On My Windows 10 PC?

The Task Manager app in Windows 10 is filled with lots of stuff like Windows processes and services that even regular users are not aware of, simply because you can’t know the ins and outs of everything you use; learning happens gradually over time. So, one such process that may be unknown to some users is System Interrupts.

Situation

WD My password USB 3.0

Samsung serie 7 Ulta, windows 8 Pro 64 bit

Each time I plugged my HDD into the USB 3 port of the laptop

pc started to hang

in task Manager, could we see that the System Interrupts was taking up to 30% of the CPU

only solution was to reboot

In the same time (september 2013)

Windows Update was at latest stand

Samsung update did not propose and improvements

Looking a WD site, I found that one can update the HDD FW, which I never did before

Upgrading done on the USB 2 port to maintain the laptop stable, now the USB 3 can be used without problems.
