No plans to expand public transport system
No new plans will be made to extend the current public transport system due the current corona crisis. Normally, public transport carriers U-OV and Syntus draw up a transport plan and timetable for the new year. They set up a platform that provides everyone the opportunity to think about which direction the public transport system should be heading. Stalled by the corona crisis Unfortunately this year is different because of the ongoing corona crisis and the measures that must be taken as a result. Due to the many ongoing uncertainties surrounding public affairs, it has therefore been decided to postpone dialogue regarding the further development of the public transport infrastructure. The province will announce a new transport plan as soon as there is more clarity about the manageability and the financial consequences of the pandemic. Safety measures still in place Public transport has seemingly returned to normal since the 2nd of June. The number of trips has increased and since July everyone has been welcome on public transport again. However, a number of measures are in place to ensure that everyone can travel safely by public transport, such as the obligation to wear a mask within all public transport vehicles.
