If there has been a single theme from my 2020s, it is this niggling need to start over. I haven't the slightest as to whether or not the hunger is to start over or to grow with time, but I have been hungering for a change. In 2020, I told myself that in the spirit of cassette tapes that were sprouting up from time to time that I would start a label.

I saw that there were a lot of niche labels, so I wanted to do one that either catered to Afropunk tastes or one that would highlight autistic artists. In the end, I had neither the money nor the knowledge of any cassette makers available. But that does not mean that I would not at least attempt a netlabel.

This label that I am creating for myself went through multiple names. ASA (All Songs Are Spirituals being one name.) But I had settled through all of that time on cosmic blue records. All lowercase.

Inspired by when Tyler the Creator used Tumblr not only as a digital magazine, but also as a basis for his record label, I decided to take a leap of faith and start it up. The first releases being demos and singles from my upcoming release. As of now, my first demo is "Out of the Woodwork". Let me know your thoughts.

This song was written after a much-predicted rise in people, but especially black people, owning their autism and even being more diagnosed. I wrote this in celebration of us all having a conversation about this, with the hopes that my dream of a scene will be borne.

Here's to new beginnings.
