oh boy

Beverly wasn’t quite sure what she’d been expecting, exactly. Over the past couple months, she had subtly tried to drop hints that Will should come out with her and the rest of the team  -- to let loose and just forget the dead men, women and children from work -- so when Will had been the one to suggest an outing, she had been understandably skeptical. That skepticism had continued, though good-naturedly, at all of his snark.

“Wow. Talk about a bleak outlook,” she quipped, lifting her glass in a mocking salute. “Here’s to ‘not being happy anywhere.’” Downing half of her glass, Beverly hummed at the all too familiar burn. It warmed her pleasantly and she smiled, a faint ruddiness tinging her cheeks. She was no stranger to alcohol -- it was a common crutch in their field -- yet she had never been able to avoid the betrayal of certain bodily reactions. 

Arching a brow, Beverly set her glass down and traced the rim with her finger. “I dunno,” she drawled. “Is it? Only you can determine that, Graham.” It was a little sad, she decided, but Will had always been a bit on the melancholy side of the spectrum. She liked and respected and even envied his mind, but where most tended to shy away, she had zero qualms with honing in. 

            “    quite amusing,  really.    our places being switched like this.    ”    yet,  just as before,  it was on will’s request.    and matthew was just as clueless to the reasoning for the beckon.

     “Excuse me mind if I come in? Thank you.” On a 3.5% chance of the door actually being answered by someone so secretive, he would not get a second chance to enter the home. He took it at full gallop, nearly bowling over the smaller man in the process and in his hurry categorizing the details of the house as he whisked past. Curious.
