In the beginning, there was a Diamond, a Diamond DA40. The Singapore Youth Flying Club (@syfc_skylark) celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2021. 50 years of talent scouting and nurturing future pilots. Many of whom have made a career in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (@thersaf). It’s early beginnings can be traced back to when it was 151 Squadron under the RSAF. 151 Squadron was disbanded in 1990 when the Youth Flying Club was set up as a full-fledged government-supported civilian flying club. Picture #6 shows the Squadron patch for 151 Squadron - ‘Ever Advancing’. Team Gryphon is a group of 6 F-15SG Eagles (aka Mudhens) from 142 SQN (Honour and Glory) who will demo what tight formation flying looks like & do a bomb burst display at the RSAF’s 50th Anniversary celebrations at the Marina Barrage this weekend.
